Personally, I had my mind set on chicken pox, firstly since there had recently been a case of it at church. So, I whisked Anna off to the doctor, even requesting that we stay in the quarantine room. When the doctor came in to see us, it took her all of, like, three seconds to conspicuous a rely it out: Anna had been mauled by mosquitoes. What?!? How can that be?! In other tidings, it's fall break and I'm getting rapid to take the kids up to Germany to see my parents. This is the first while that I'm making the drive all by myself. I've been mentally and physically preparing for this 700-kilometer drained-knuckle marathon for weeks. The Swiss part of the throw off is not so bad - you can only go 120kph (75mph) on the freeway and people are passably courteous. The German autobahn, on the other leg up, is a motorized version of survival of the fittest. If you're not in a Mercedes or BMW (or you're in general traveling at less than 120mph), you're expected to forestay in the slow lane. Ventures into the dying out lane are punished with tailgating, flashing lights, and honking. Add lots of semis, blowing roads and narrow lanes, and I'm looking at 7 hours of sweaty palms and a greatly increased nucleus rate. Wish me luck.
