Von der Ente bis zur Limousinen-Ikone DSAbove allaußergewöhnliches Design und originelle Details waren in den 50er- und 60er-Jahren die unverwechselbaren Merkmale von Citroen-Fahrzeugen. Nach einem langen Weg der Irrungen und Wirrungen fanden die Citroen-Artificer vor etwa vier oder fünf Jahren auch mit dem Kompaktmodell C4, zu den einstigen Werten zurück. Nach vier Jahren haben die Franzosen ihm nun eine dezente Frischzellen-Kur verpasst und zwei neue Benzin-Motoren spendiert, die gleichzeitig für verbesserte Fahrleistungen und weniger Verbrauch sorgen.
Von den Veränderungen an der Außenhaut ist im Prinzip nur die Front betroffen. Kühlergrill, Schürze und Scheinwerfer wurden dem neuen C5 angepasst. Darüber hinaus wurde die Motorhaube geglättet, was den kleineren Bruder nun insgesamt etwas eleganter wirken lässt. Im Innenraum gab es ebenfalls Modellpflege im Detail.
